Plot: An admired high school hockey player (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) with a bright future foolishly takes a drive in the night with his girl friend and two other friends with his headlights off with devastating results. The former athlete is left with a brain injury that prevents him from remembering many things for extended periods of time. To compensate, he keeps notes in a small notebook to aid him in remembering what he is to do. He also lives with a blind friend (Jeff Daniels) who aids him. Obviously, with the mental incapacitation, he is unable to have meaningful work. Thus he works as a night cleaning man in a bank. It is there he comes under the scrutiny of a gang planning to rob the bank. The leader (Matthew Goode) befriends him and gets him involved with a young woman (Isla Fisher) who further reels him in. After they get close and after reeling him in with his own failures, the bank plan unfolds. Confused but wanting to escape his current existence, he initially goes along with the scheme. After realizing he is being used, he attempts to stop the robbery, which of course immediately goes awry. Bruce McGill and Alberta Watson also co-star as the young man’s parents, who still search for the person that was there before the tragic crash.

Credit Card settlement?
Hello,

I have a SBI credit card which i had used. I have also stopped making minimum payments since the last 3 years. The principal outstanding of my card is Rs. 25000 and the total outstanding is 70000. I got a call from the collections department asking me to pay 30000 towards settlement of the account. Now after 2 months i got an e-mail from the person asking me to make a payment of 40000 towards settlement of the account in 4 installments. In my exchange of emails with the officer I had mentioned that i am out of job now due to the recession and am still on the lookout for a job, but I am willing to repay back in installments. I am not sure about how I can get this card settled or how much will be waivered of because of settlement. Please suggest as to how much can be waivered and is it the principal limit I have to take into consideration or the total outstanding?

Thanks & Regards,
Vincentj

In card settlement you should have a good bargain power. If they are asking for 40000/- then it could be settle in around 30000/- and what ever the settlement amount you could pay in installment.
Vincent, with the debt in question being 3 years old, before you agree to ANYTHING please check the Statute of Limitations (SOL) for your state! If the age of your debt (the elapsed time between now and the last time you paid) is greater than or equal to the SOL, a Debt Collector can pursue you BUT the debt is uncollectable! Got to http://www.creditinfocenter.com/rebuild/ statuteLimitations.shtml, find your state, and look up the number in the "Open Ended" column. This number is the SOL and again, if the age of your debt is greater than or equal to this number, you can tell the Debt Collector to (insert expletive) off! (In legal terms, of course!)

What does the lock on ARIA keep her from doing in EAGLE EYE?
In the movie Eagle Eye jerrys brother sets a biometric lock on ARIA to prevent her from killing the president but if she killed all those cops and stuff with street lights and stuff why couldnt she do the same to him? So basicaly what did the lock keep her from doing and why couldnt she do it why locked?

Uhm I might not be right but I think it was because….
She had that planned all along and Jerry’s brother knew that so he put a lock on, but he didn’t exactly know how she was going to kill the president… lol yeah I know that was confusing but that’s the best I got,
The good thing is that – it will be an easy robbery – an inside job. Unfortunately, it turns out to be the same robbery, at the same time. Suddenly this used car salesman and this yuppie stock broker find themselves in a gun battle with each other and the police, leaving them no other choice but to team up in order to get away.
He kissed me… then told his roommate he wouldn't bring a black girl home?
I have a guy friend that I have known for a couple of years. We’re pretty close.. he lives on my floor in our dorm, we hang out pretty much everyday and have the same group of friends. He came with my family to India over the summer and also spent Christmas with my family because his parents were out of the county. Hell, he even made me soup when I was sick ( yes, It was out of the can but still…….. : D) Basically, were pretty close.

I have feelings for him, but I never told him because he lives down the hall and we have the same group of friends. I didn’t want to make things awkward if the feelings weren’t mutual. Yesterday a few of us went to a concert, afterward we ended up hanging out at the beach where he kissed me, said he had liked me for a while and told me that we were going on a date the next day. I went home on cloud nine. I had just spent my Friday night making out on the beach in the rain with the guy that I have liked for months . I couldn’t even concentrate on my paper because I was anticipating our date the next day .

I went to his room to copy some notes from one of his roommates and I hear my name come up. So I did what any normal human being would do if they heard their name come up in conversation.. listened. Some may call this eavesdropping! His roommate asked him what was going on with us. He responded saying( his exact words), "I don’t know…..I guess nothing. I wouldn’t bring a black girl home, my parents would have a heart attack." Not that this should make a difference, but I’m half Ethiopian half Italian and East Indian. The ironic thing is that the roommate actually called me an hour later and asked me if I wanted to go to a film festival with him tonight.

He ( my friend) called me and left a message asking if we were still on for tonight . I texted him back canceling and he asked why. I told him that I thought there was "nothing going on between us". He’s has been calling me since saying that he’s sorry and that he didn’t mean it like that. My roommate must have told him that I went home because he showed up at my parents house. I had my parents tell him I wasn’t there. ( Very immature I know, but I was upset. ). One of my dorm-mates told me this afternoon that his great or great great grandfather was a big shot confederate general in the civil war and that this is a big deal in his family. I do know he’s from a wealthy family from the south, but the Civil War was a looooong time ago. The only family member of his that I have met is his sister who is a modern day hippie. She just married a Spanish man a few months back and her parents where not at the wedding.

It’s one thing for his parents to feel that way, I wouldn’t hold it against him, but it’s another for him to say " nothing’s going on, I wouldn’t bring a black girl home" to his roommate. We both have the same open-minded diverse group of friends. We spend so much time together that our friends are always making some sort of joke as why we aren’t together yet. I feel hurt, he’s really the last person I expected something like this from. He was the one who kissed me, said he had feelings for me, he initiated it. I don’t want to sound like I have my nose up in the air but, I’m an attractive girl with a likable personality. I’m a bio-chem major with a 3.8 GPA at a top university. I come from a good family, both of my parents are MD’s . I’m not some drug dealing crack-whore that hangs out on the street corner at night. On Christmas morning when my uncle asked me who the "stray white kid" sleeping on my floor was, I told him exactly where he could go even though he was half joking.

I keep replaying what he said to his roommate over and over in my head and over and over again I feel hurt and confused, like someone just came up to me and slapped me for no reason and I’m trying to figure out why. My dad says that I should hear him out . At the least for the sake of our friendship, but unfortunately my stubbornness is one of my less endearing qualities. Am I blowing this way out of proportion? He and I have been good friends for years and normally I feel like we could talk about anything under the sun, but now I’m not so sure.

I think your father is dead on in this situation. Have you never said something to a friend that you hadn’t really thought through and later regretted it. I think that you need to sit down with him and tell him exactly how you feel. You should see this as an opportunity for your friendship to grow. Whats going to happen, either you have saved yourself from having more intimate relationship with a racist or your friendship will deepen. Its actually a win win situation for you, you just need ironically to get over your own prejudice.

One small thing, imagine if this boy had over heard your relative saying whose the stray white kid on the floor, wouldn’t you want to chance to talk it through with him as well. You must be less rigid in this situation, its a really great opportunity for growth for you and you both. Be brave ….
Tao | Feb 07, 2010

That’s deep. Racism is still going strong and will always be a part of our lives. Such a shame. But concerning your problem…he still has the mentality he was raised with which could affect not only his friendship with you but also his future relationships. This may be the lesson he needs to rid himself of his family’s influence concerning racial bias. You have every right to do what you want just like he had every right to condemn you in front of his peer. You can hear him out…or you can ignore him. Your choice, your feelings.
I think that is terrible! Yes parents can have their view but he should be more open minded, I think this smacks of good enough for dating but not good enough to marry. I was in a similar relationship with an Asian man for 4 years and he wouldn’t introduce me to his family as they wouldn’t have "approved" of me NICE we eventually split up when I realised I was someone to be proud of not hidden away. You should certainly meet up with him and hear him out but I think this kind of prejudice is too deep-rooted
maria | Feb 07, 2010

He’s a racist prick and you did the right thing, cupcake. You sound like a nice girl & deserve someone who will be proud to have a bird like you on their arm.
IStarDumb?s | Feb 07, 2010

"I don’t know…..I guess nothing. I wouldn’t bring a black girl home, my parents would have a heart attack."

That sentence in itself tells you all you need to know. Save yourself the drama. If he won’t stand up to his parents for you then what is the point? He won’t bring you home to them so where could a possible relationship between you go? And I personally wouldn’t even be friends with someone whose parents felt that way about "black" people.
happily*waiting | Feb 07, 2010

I understand how you feel. I hang out with a mixed group of friends and when I hear someone say something like that, it takes me by surprise and is hurtful.
After you finish cooling off, let him tell his side of the story. Then tell him yours.
If you two are as close as you say, this might be a misunderstanding that your friendship can survive.
If not, then I suppose you’ve seen his true colors. It’s not always an easy thing, but it happens….
Good luck!

What should i do for my sixteenth birthday?
I’m turning 16 in August (I know i have a lot of time until then but i want to start getting ideas now)
I think i want to have a party with anywhere from 6-10 people but could change the number higher or a little lower depending on what i’m doing. I have no idea what to do, but last year for my 15th we went out to dinner and dressed up so i dont want to do that again. What are some things you or friends did for their parties? ANY ideas will help!!!
