Many of these wont make your final cut, but i tried to be as open minded as possible.
Impossible to make the choice because (1) they played in different eras and (2) Important facets of the game have changed, such as tuck rule, instant replay, and so forth. How many QB’s could have won more games had there been some of the rules and regulations that exist today? Also you have to factor in the steroid issue. I would categorize them into perhaps five eras: 1950-1960, 1961-1970, 1971-80, 1981-90 and the ones who are still active (the 5th era), we really can’t vote on them because they are still fulfilling their careers.

I don’t know, but when I talk about greatest QB’s ever, Kerry Collins, Jake Delhomme, Trent Green, and Jake Plummer don’t come up in conversation.

Steve Young very possibly could have smoked all of them if he had started earlier in his career. However, I don’t like him as an analyst. If you’re listening Steve..WE HEAR YA. YOU DON’T HAVE TO TRY TO TALK OVER ANYBODY ELSE. WE HEAR YA BUDDY!

Quite a few of those need taken off just because you look at them and say "REALLY? you are REALLY putting them on the list?" Then a few can get taken off because they aren’t as good as others. First off if you want to talk about dual threat then Cunningham is the best on that list, he was doing it before it got popular and he could PASS. Anyway from the ones I’ve seen play yeah it is Montana. Otto Graham has an argument with all the titles.

Need to narrow the list down some. How about eliminate active players?

Yes, Manning, Brady, Farve and a few more may make the top 10, but let’s wait until they retire to put them in the top 10.

Peyton Manning is the greatest quarterback of all time and possibly the greatest player of all time. I’m not even a Colts fan, and this just jumps out at me. You could insert Peyton onto any other top team in history and they’re at least as good, if not better, but if you insert any of them onto this year’s Colts squad, and there’s a step down after losing Dungy, not the step up that took place this year. No player has had the ability to completely take over a game as well as and as consistently as Peyton.
