Is what this teacher doing wrong?
I have a teacher who I’ve had for about 3 years, who teaches a special ed-related program, and I’m doing ok in her classes. Thing is, she has a lot of stress of her, has head scribblings of her name and "she’s a *****" on desks. Also, she’s had students get really upset at her, slam doors in her class. Today in that class, she grabbed the wrist of a girl forcefully and then yelled at her as if she was mentally insane. It shocked everybody in the class, but nobody really cared.
Also, the teacher said some REALLY odd things in the class like when a student asked if he could get held back for failing classes, the teacher answered his Q then talked about "if I were in high school I would gain 20 lbs. to graduate" and the kid was like "I don’t see where you’re going with this but okay…" and it made us go wtf. Also, she used the word "pregnancy" to describe a type of homework assignment, and it made some girls really freaked out in a way.
Today the teacher was very aggressive and psychotic, and I act like that a lot, but I’m not one who’s been a teacher for 26 years. IMO this teacher is crazy.
What do you think?
Also, me and the girl are both 16, and this happened in CA
ah….ur really fuccked up….like totally.

Your class probably has a lot of spoiled brats

Well having to teach a class full of teens mucking about would make anyone psychotic. Maybe you guys should behave for once and see how she behaves.
Teaching is not any easy profession.

You certainly have a psychotic teacher. Report her immediately.

Yeah.
TEACHERS CANNOT GRAB STUDENTS!!! No no no!
Plus, talking about…pregnancy or whatever can really freak some peopel out. And it could get bad if they get too scared…
If people are getting THAT upset with her, why has no one put a stop to this?!?
Talk to parents/ principal.
MAKE SURE IT GOES ANONYMOUS!!!

All kids today have cell phones. Kids record teacher’s all the time without getting caught. If your story about a psycho teacher is for real, just have a friend (or yourself) record some of the teacher’s wierdness and play it for your parents. The teacher won’t last long.
Like cops, teachers can’t get away with much these days thanks to video/recordings from cell phones.

It sounds as if the teacher may be stressed out. It happens to a lot of teachers. Maybe some of the students should point it out to her because maybe she doesn’t realize what she is doing. If that doesn’t work then maybe you should take it to the principle. A child/student should not feel uncomfortable by the teacher that is supposed to be helping to educate them.

Talk to your parents and the principal and the school counselor all together in one meeting. If they do nothing to resolve the problem, your parents should call the school board members, and if they do nothing, then go to the state level and complain.
This teacher lost it and needs to be disciplined. You would have been suspended had you done it to another student or to the teacher. The teacher needs to take a leave of absence and get professional help.

Talk to a teacher she is friendly with and see if that teacher would tell her she needs some stress management.

Teaching special ed can be very stressful in general, and might be even more so right now since, with budget cuts in California schools, teachers may be carrying even heavier loads than usual. Yelling a lot can be a sign of too much stress. If you have a counselor, I would let her know about that. If not, you could talk to someone like the Principal, or have your parents do so. I’m concerned about the yelling. Things like using the word "pregnancy" to describe a type of homework assignment isn’t out of line; if the girls freaked out about the use of a word, it doesn’t seem that this was the teacher’s fault. And without having heard the context of the comment on gaining 20 lbs., I can’t say if this was an appropriate answer to the question or not. It could have been a joke or an example of something that just went over the class’ head. However, yelling in an aggressive way (I wouldn’t use the words insane or psychotic, which have specific meanings. You just mean that she went a out of control in her yelling) suggest to me that she is under a lot of stress and may need some help with that.

The chick is seriously stressed. Cut her some slack and try to feel what it would be like in her shoes. Teaching is hard work.
Why do the girls get freaked out if she says pregnancy??? They are gonna have to grow up if that scares them because I’m younger than yall are and I hear and see things a lot worse than what you’re dealing with here.
